Best Position: Long Corner and use a Bait and Switch Teaser Lure in any position

The Beerguts are back in production as part of the Shell Range. They are separated from the rest of the range because they’re the easiest Pakula Lures to run. They’re predominantly used in the Long Corner, Long Rigger, and Shotgun positions. They have a straight-running, tight swimming action with a long, narrow smoke trail that enhances their slender baitfish profile when run right in the middle of the froth and turbulence of the prop wash.
The Medium Beergut was Dean Butler’s favourite teaser lure, helping Tom Evans chase Fly Fishing Records on the boat Blue Dog.
Try running one off a flat line right down the middle of the spread, right at the tail of the prop wash.
