Pakula lures work very well north of the equator.

I fish on my brothers 33 Tiara, Showtime out of Huntington Harbor, California. We fished an IGFA event called BAC Masters Bill Fish Tournament. It is light line, 30 lb max for Striped Marlin. Each team has 4 boats, although we only had a 3 boat team. On day 1, September 5th, we had a double. Long corner medium sprocket Blue Angel was bit first. Then the mini sprocket grasshopper on long rigger was bit. Cleared lines, fish stayed together and the lines must have crossed, the grasshopper fish was cut off. We released the Blue Angel fish in about 25 minutes in 20 lb, 10kg for you. We swam the fish on a snooter for about 5 minutes. We had another solid hookup on day two, but hook did not stick solid. We came in 6th place angler. Our 3 boat team came in 2nd place team and 2nd place club. Only 10 fish released, so the break off fish mattered a lot.

We fish for Dana Angling Club

Hi Jo, I want you and the entire Pakula World to know how much I love your products. They work very well here in Southern California. Our season is winding down, but we had another successful season. We catch Striped Marlin, and they are small, 120 to 200 pounds. We mostly fish with 30 lb tackle.

This year, I have caught 4 fish on Paua Mini Sprocket Lumo on the rigger. I have also caught 3 fish on Paua Medium Sprocket Blue Angel, on the long corner. Unfortunately, I hooked and broke off one fish on each lure. I was fishing in a tournament and both were on 20 Lb, 10Kg for you.

My brother owns the boat we fish in, and he puts his lures out on one side, while I take the other. So far, I have out-fished his lures 7 to 1.

I have included a picture of a fish from last year in one of our tournaments. Lure is Paua Hornet Stripey Lumo, I think.

Regards Bob Waters
